i have been listening to Opeth's yet to be released "Damnation" and its such a great album... you guys probably think it is going to be like an album full of stuff like "face of melinda" and "patterns in the ivy" but really... it isn't. ok... take "to bid you farewell" (best song of all time) and add a more pink floyd-ish touch mixed in with a little... i don't know, movie soundtrack-ish type of approach. it has a sound that is going to appeal to EVERYONE. well... anyone that appreciates TALENT and beautiful songwriting. i wish to hear more music like this. its great music that you can really listen to at anytime. i suggest that you people wait in line at the store entrance the day this is released because this should, in my opinion, be a huge hit. It's not a metal album, but if you like Opeth, you'll like it.
I have listened to damnation all the way through about 6 times so far, Its not a very lengthy disc. It is a good album, but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be for some reason. Hopefully it will get better as I listen to it more. (which usually happens with a lot of different bands)
