Grossman sucked so bad I have to wonder if he got paid to throw the game.
Now that he got his ring and the non stop asskissing parade with go into overdrive, the NFL will lay of their insane desire to baby Manning.

A couple of Grossman's throws looked exactly like some "The Longest Yard" shit

I'd love to stick it to the Colts but the bears didn't deserve it. I don't know who the defensive coordinator for the Bears is, or what fucking game he was watching but that was fucking terrible. What a miserable way to end a season. Everybody and their mother knew Manning was gonna try short passes, and dump offs. It's the smartest possible thing you can do in rainy windy conditions like that if you're Peyton Manning or not. The fact that the Bears kept dropping back their coverage, and out-and-out refused to make an adjustment makes me wonder how the hell they ever got to the superbowl. Seriously, this is why people hate watching the superbowl so much. Every other year some team works all the way to the superbowl only to throw out all the intelligence, and startegy that got them there. They insist on sticking to some dumbass gameplan that has no chance of ever working, and they get blown out. Urlacher was noticably pissed at the play calling by the 3rd quarter and I don't blame him. Shit play calling took him right out of the game.

I have never play organized football in my life and I can say without hesitation that I'm a better quarterback than Rex Grossman. I don't think I saw that guy throw one fundamentally sound pass all night. If you throw a diaper shot floater into heavy double coverage once and it gets intercepted... what the hell do you think is gonna happen when you do it again? Run the ball, exploit the weak run defense, run short quick passing routes, wear the defense down and slowly move the ball down the field. That's how you play in the rain. That's how you play against a weak defense like the Colts. I get that. Everyone here gets that. Everyone watching the game got that. Why didn't anyone on the Bear's sideline get that?

The Colts were not the best team in the NFL. But they were the better team in the superbowl. My hats off to them.

you people hate sports just because you were always picked last in gym

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Feb 5,2007 11:00am
I will never give the Colts credit for anything. They claimed that their defensive struggles were fixed but I guarantee if another team with a better running game was in the Superbowl, the Colts would have been raped. Apparently, the Bears weren't smart enough to try and exploit the Colts run defense so they relied on a shitty quarterback like Rex Grossman. I do not feel bad one bit that the dude is constantly dissed in the media because he deserves it in my opinion.

I'm only bitter about the outcome of this game because I feel the NFL is babying the Colts. They make them money with Peyton Manning as the Colts quarterback because he broke a Dan Marino record. BIG FREAKIN WOOP. I think the refs in the AFC Championship game were siding with the Colts. The Patriots should have won that game, they are the better team by far.

i completely agree... the bears were playing what they had practiced.. they didn't change any game plans when it obvioulsy needed to be changed .instead of having grossman chuck it 20 yards and hope someone on the bears was gonna catch it.. they should have just kpet running it.. punch it in. the colts defense would have weakend eventually . they should taken Grossman out.. and put in Greise ( i dont know how to spell that) and i bet they would have won...
it looked like he was throwing the ball right to the colts! like " here you want it? ok "
i'm a bitter patriots fan as well... but i'd have to agree that.. the better team won..

Put in Griese? I dunno. Look at his stats

6 games, 32 passing attempts, 1 touchdown, 2 INT's. When a guy has only 32 passing attempts all season the Superbowl isn't the time to start experimenting like that. Grossman is not the most gifted quarterback, but there are still ways to win. Sloppy gameplans, and poor executions are not the way. Compare just about any drive between the two teams. The Colts offense was methodical, smart, and patient. The Bears were all over the place. You can't win a game like that.

agreed... but i think anything woulda been better than Grossman.. that was only his 19th NFL start... ever... still a rookie..
to trust the superbowl in the hands of a rookie against the best QB in the league right now is beyond risky...
Tony Dungy is a good coach i've always liked him...
never yells.. very patient...

haha Tom Brady > Rex Grossman any day of the week. But I'm sure anyone who watched that first Brady superbowl knew at least one guy who started screaming "PUT IN BLEDSOE!!" when the game got close.

Drew Bledsoe of course went on to bigger and better things:

the last two seasons have had the worst superbowls far surpassing the suckage that was tampa bay vs. oakland or ny vs. baltimore.

i mean c'mon pittsburgh and seattle or indie vs chicago

the nfl needs to be mlb and throw out the caps and just put in fines for over spending so teams can be good again.

the pats will probably be at the same place they were the last two seasons for a while destroying their division and then losing in the playoffs.

but this isnt about the pats, its about the nfl need to get away with making the superbowl a surprise and making it something great again. who cares about fairness.

i want teams that destroy year in and year out. the 49ers, the original steel curtain, hell even for a while i didnt mind the cowboys. fuck the raiders ha

umm yeah they have.. it's called a salary cap... no team can spend more than the limit.. the pats are actually under ...
and it can't really be... teams that destroy ever year.. b/c of a little something called the draft.. there are new players added ever year... therefore teams are always changing.. and will never remain the same... year in and year out...

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Feb 6,2007 1:38pm
youre fucking retarded, i said like mlb. where they just get a fine for over spending.

and actually yeah they had those lil draft thingies you were introducing me to way back when they had teams winning year in and year out.

its the fact that teams cant keep their proven players cause of the cap that it makes it harder for teams to continuely win ever year.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Feb 6,2007 2:00pm
the raiders had the 7th overall pick last year, and they'll have the 1st overall pick this year. In 2010 they will still be awful. Mark my words.

thats the curse i hope follows them around as long as John Madden is alive.

id like to see the colts to follow as hard as the raiders have since they played in the superbowl.

but mostly likely itll be the bears who suck next year.

Alright if this isn't testimony to Peyton Manning being a douche I don't know what is:

So I started a character in Hall of Famer mode in Madden 07. He's a running back. Just my luck I get drafted to the Colts. Whatever, I think, very offensive oriented team, good offensive line, this should work out well for me. But son of a bitch, it's like pulling teeth to get Manning to hand the ball off to me. The guy wants to throw every fucking play. And it's not like he can't count on his running game. I'm pulling in 80 - 100 and then some yard games even with the low number of carries I have. But the guy just won't give up the ball. He audibles out of half the running plays that are called, and refuses to run on third down.

I can't tell you how many times this will happen. I'll rush on first down for 9 yards. He'll throw an incompletion on 2nd down. And then instead of letting me fight for the rest on third down he'll toss up some hail mary. It's third and inches. If I could get 9 and a half hards I can get 2 feet. He keeps calling the same dumbass play action pass every other down. And on top of that he calls the dumbest fucking audibles on my run plays. The defense will shift their linebackers and tackles to one side of the field, and instead of letting me run to the opposite side he'll audible the play to have me run straight into their entire defense. It's a fucking miracle I get any yards at all.

I might just demand a trade.

Whenever I start a Hall of Famer mode in Madden 07 I give my characters gay pornstar names like "Rod Bentsteel" and "Crash Brockman" then I demand a trade I call out the coach after the first pre-season game. I will never be in the Hall of Fame.

It was too late to demand a trade, so I just scrapped the whole thing. I made a new character as a quarterback. I was drafted by the Chiefs and now I'm 2nd string behind Trent Green. The preseason hasn't even started and I've already announced a garauntee we'll make the playoffs. Hopefully the Madden 07 season holds true to the real 07 season and Green gets obliterated in the 2nd week of the season.
